 Davenport Autopark Invests in Community via Fun Run for Charities

Davenport Autopark was pleased to recently present its inaugural contribution to Reach Out Rocky Mount to benefit the annual Fun Run for Charities fundraiser. Davenport raised $7,100 through their new Community for Life program that was established this year to partner with Reach Out Rocky Mount to provide funding for a wide variety of area non-profit groups and outreach programs. With the Reach Out Rocky Mount endowment match, Davenport's contribution resulted in close to $10,000 in support for the local non-profit community.

Each time a vehicle is purchased, the customer is able to select a participating charity of their choice to receive a contribution from Davenport. The funds accumulate during the year and are then donated to Reach Out Rocky Mount during the annual Fun Run for Charities event. The contribution is increased through matching endowment funds, and then distributed to the designated charity organizations. Davenport General Manager, Neill Nelson, states that "this is the perfect philanthropic partnership; by buying local, Rocky Mount residents allow us to give back to the community in a significant way - the community supporting the community. It doesn't get any better than that".
